    Hi!

I have got a problem with my girlfriends TX2500. I have a TX2000 and I downgraded it to windows XP. The same thing I tried with her laptop. Everything looks fine. In the Hardware manager I can see 2 unknown devices. The 1st one is I think the quick launch buttons which I can not install, because the installation pack does not recognize the Windows XP Tablet PC edition correctly. The second one I have no idea what should be, but probably this is causing problems.

    THE PROBLEM:
When I start Mozilla Firefox or Opera, I am experiencing a not smooth scrolling.
The scrollig is worse, if on the page is an image, or flash object.
The same is with a big amount of text.

I have installed the amd cpu monitoring tool and it seems to me, that it tooks a little bit time for the processor to calculate the scrolling. (the chart is going up and down, as I scroll and the scrolling is not smooth, when the processor is down on 600MHz..)

I tried to uninstall this tool, then the drivers for AMD processor. (I was unable to uninstall the monitoring tool, so I just stopped it in regedit to start after startup) The behaviour was the same.

I am really desperate, because I see that everything is working on mine (TX2000) smoothly and it is bad on the more powerfull TX2500.

If somebody can give me advice, or is experiencing the same,
please write to this thread ASAP.

    Thanks a lot,

    Peter

1st off are you running XP Pro or XP Tablet Edition? and did you use the driver threads specifically for the tx2500, they are not the same machine and have several components different.

Also make sure that you're running the latest ati catalyst drivers.

Yes, I am using the latest catalist drivers and a XP Tablet PC Edition. Does the XP Pro or Tablet Edition make any differrence anyway? And I am using also the drivers for the scrollpad. And I have distinguished between the drivers for the processor and the other differences between the TX2000 and TX2500. And that is the reason that makes me desperate.

    Thanks

not quite sure what the issue is, do try installing the quicklaunch drivers though and let me know if there is any difference, though i'm not sure how it would be related.

thanks for cooperation. I will try to post a reply ASAP, but probably I will get to it only tomorrow(I am at work at the moment).
I tried to install the drivers for quick launch but the installation ended up with some error, I do not remember. Will tell you once home.
Thanks a lot, hovewer I am not sure, if Quick Launch drivers will help:(

Were those the specific one's you'd tried, i included them specifically because other members said they'd gotten those particular drivers to install. Do keep us posted on the outcome.

    DLL function call crashed:HPQNT.hpqGetBrandEx

    the error number is: 0x80040707

Hope you will know what this means.

Thanks a lot and looking forward to hear from you

hi, checked the folders, everything seems fine.
but it is not working still.
but anyway, I can obbey that quick play buttons driver. I can mute and change volume, and start the quick play. so I am not so sure, why it is as unknown.
The only thing is, that scrolling is sluggerish, not smooth in firefox, or opera.
And I think, this is the result of not properly configured graphic performance.
maybe I am the only one, experiencing these problems, but if you have any idea, let me know.
The unknown hardaware has these details:
    ACPI\ENE0100\4&15458EF3&1
    I/O Range 0380-03833
    IRQ 04

    the other is:
    ACPI\HPQ0007\2&DABA3FF&0

Hope this helps to find out what is wrong.

    Thanks a lot,

    Peter
