Turning off the "a" band got rid of the speaker problem. Thanks Yianaki.

and the squealing seems to get more noticeable for me when I change the power plan to high performance. Is that for other people as well or just me? Also, I hear it plugged or unplugged.

Shouldn't have read this thread...I only started noticing it after reading this too. :p

I have the same high pitched squeal. It was fine and not squeal at first. After one week of using it, it started to have the squeal. I am thinking it's the hard driver sound.
    My tx2500z is 2.4GHz 4GB RAM 320GB HDD FUJITSU

^ Thank you! So you think it is a result from the 320gb hard drive, not the processor? I still don't hear it on mine, but I am getting worried! Sorry you are having to exchange :(

its not that the hdd is bad, its just that this particular model is noisy... maybe a firmware release will fix it. But thats how this drive is... I am not sure if the 250 GB one is actually a seagate and might be better for those who are annoyed by this noisy drive. Can anyone confirm what brand the 250 GB version of the drive is?

PS: You can confirm this by unplugging your laptop and then putting your ear on the bottom side of the laptop where the HDD is.
