Looks like the main difference is the inclusion of the Wacom digitiser and more powerful CPU and larger hard drive compared to my TX1030ea - which is still less than a year old (and cost me £300 more!).

And it seems the original touch screen functionality remains, so you get the best of both worlds. One thing I'm not sure about is whether the Wacom digitiser supports pressure sensitivity. Anyone confirm this?

The battery design looks different and the old 4 cell was flush fitting while the new one sticks out like the old 6-cell. I'm really hoping battery life has been improved as I can never get more than 2 hours with my TX1030ea.

Still no Firewire, but pre-n WiFi is there.

The Wacom digitiser reads 256 pressure levels as far as I remember.

The price was better than I thought it would be - now need to see if I could get anything reasonable price-wise for my TX1030EA!

Yeah, I'd love to shift my TX for one of these, but I've got a 3 year insurance on mine too (as its in public places and moved around a lot), so I'd have to shift that as well as its Serial # Locked. Makes it pretty impossible really.
