When off, the screen off my tx2 shows a small white spot, when on, it turns brownish. I'm pretty sure this is internal as I tried surface cleaning it to no avail.
Also, this is a recent development. Any idea what it could be???

It is a speck of dust (or a small dust bunny) that is below the glass protective layer; If you were to shine a flashlight on it when it is off, you would see it clearly.
Unfortunately there is almost no way to clean it out of there, its just something you will have to live with.

It is a somewhat common problem on consumer grade devices

Thanks for responding Agent9, however, is there no way to disassemble the display unit and get to the dust, my warranty has expired anyway.

You might be able to get rid of it; you need to remove the bezel around the screen (there will probably be a few screws below the hinge cover and under rubber feet), then see if you can get to the in-between of the screen, if you can then all you need to do is use a can of canned air to clear it out.
    Well, something like that.
