Diesel, thnx for this great find! Definitaly, I was quiet annoyed with the cracky sound when playing DVD. First thought I blew up the speakers, then reinstalled the whole machine, then tried various drivers and still couldn't put my finger on the problem. I was quiet dissapointed having paid good money and even promoting HP all the time with friends/family. Turning in the machine when I cannot miss it is quiet frustrating and probably wouldn't even solve the problem. Again I just registered to thank you, well done!

Thanks so much! The sound problem has been bugging me on and off for just under a year now. Now I just have to sort out the overheating issue - calling HP in the morning, wish me luck! :S
