The info on the net says it has also to do with wireless connections like perhaps casting your laptop screen on a TV screen?

VPro is a set of hardware features (security+functionality) necessary for the "wake on lan" remote access feature. Wake on LAN is an extension of the standard remote access protocol (e.g. remote desktop, Teamviewer, etc) that allows you to remote into a device that is turned off (as long as its connected to a network).

AFAIK, VPro reduces battery life a bit if it is enabled.

Well if it is necessary for wake on lan, then I stand corrected. I have used it, but never on my laptop, only to access sleeping desktop machines in the office.

No it isn't required for that. It is a bunch of remote management and enterprise security features. Unless you need to remotely access your z20t while it's sleeping or integrate it into a high security enterprise environment, you probably don't need it.

The hp x2 1101 g1 when all items are picked such as 512 Gb and 5y71, ends up at an astronomical price of almost $3000 vs z20t w almost similar components at $1800! No comparison there. We need to look at the HP ENVY x2 13 t that is about $1600!

But, the 1101 has wacom. Plus I am not sure if you look carefully on HPs site, but I was able to price the HP with the powered keyboard with the same specs as the Z20t base for about the same price(HP was $50 cheaper). Plus, the 1101 is a business model, which has the advantage of HP's business support.

Not sure if we are talking about the same model ? I was looking at the HP X2 1101 g1
can you please post the link to where you found the HP you mentioned above. Are we talking 1011 or 1101? I found ELITE X2 1011 G1 and yes it's comparable to z20t
