    Thanks for your response. This is sort of what I thought, but I couldn't find a conclusive answer anywhere. I appreciate it. I've considered the Vivotab Note 8, actually, as my next device.

    See the Insignia NS-15MS08, although it comes at a slightly larger package and probably lower battery life

    Horrible! considering i got my refurb wt8-a32 on ebay for $150 from toshiba (recently this has now gone down to $140). Encore mini is a no deal...

    The HP stream is at a similar price. As the mini but has 32gb and 800p screen with better viewing angles. I got one and it's pretty good. Ot works well despite the RAM. I can run outlook, word and a browser with a few tabs open with now problem. The MS store had an BF deal on them for 75 bucks.

    What is the difference between the retail version WT7-C16 and the Signature version WT7-C16MS?

    "Signature version" is a marketing term used by Microsoft for PCs they sell without crapware.
