I am almost certain to buy this. Finally.
    1) 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 to work with an external GPU
    2) thinner bezel
    3) Lightweight detachable form factor
    4) Solid built quality

    Finally the unicorn.

Cool, it does look pretty sweet. For a while I though that the Spectre and Meltdown mitigations made all 8th gen CPUs kind of a no-buy, but recently I read that for most tasks the performance hit will be negligible. Looking forward to your impressions once you get it.

Yep I'm waiting for the thing to go on sale. I may be replacing the surface pros at work with these.

    If they go on sale.

Does anyone have any inside information when this will be available for purchase?

I thought I read somewhere that it was supposed to be March, but who knows.

I think the wait won't be too long since both X1C and X1 Yoga for 2018 are already on sale. Though I may need to wait until later half of the year to pull the trigger:(

Anyway, I assume there is no pen silo as in X1 Yoga? Kind of wondering what's the pen storage option here.

I hope so. I've been holding onto a Surface Book that's supposed to go to someone else at work so I can get a new tablet. I was waiting for a TB3 tablet for egpus :p.
As for pen storage, hopefully there will be cases that have a spot like the surface pro cases. I think Lenovo has a clip that the pen goes into and plugs into a USB c port or something.

Looks like no, I can't spot a silo on the promo pictures, and all images show a full size pen, no toothpick pen for a silo on the tablet. That really should be standard. Please Lenovo, include it on the next one!

I think it is a trade off between thermal control, portability and convenience. They are putting the 8th gen Quad Core i7 into this small and thin form factor, so I'd assume the internal space is quite limited..
I will always go for a full size pen when taking series writing tasks, but having a portable sized into a built in silo is really sweet.....I know I can't have everything though, and this is already a very good (more than I can dream) package...

this video reveals that there might be an on-tablet storage option for the pen. Kind of similar to what Microsoft opted for Surface Pro 3 type cover, but on the tablet instead. Welcome to 2014?
