Is 5 MP really enough for document scanning?

I find that my 8 MP phone camera is passable. Also passable for taking pictures of the whiteboard. I can't imagining having so much less zoom.

I almost wish I could frankenstein a tablet with
    - 13.3
    - silo
    - a camera as good as a smartphone
    - yoga/helix hybrid
    - keyboard with battery or swappable batteries and a ton of ports, long battery
    - not watered down power

But I guess business wants a tablet light enough you can hold it with a hand mount and get signatures.

5 MP is plenty. The size of the sensor array is rarely the limiting factor. The lens system is usually the limiting factor on cheap/compact cameras. They tend not to focus and/or resolve well enough.

Add me to the list of those buying the first Helix. Found one on ebay for $549 and couldn't pass that up. The heat and fan issues are my main concern, but hopefully with TPFan Control, it will be OK.

Mine must have an updated driver or firmware because my fan is not intrusive at all. Congratulations on your find! Other than not having a mSDXC slot it is a great value on my opinion. Not the latest and greatest tech but the new stuff is obsolete too, just to a different degree.

    What will run faster

core i7 thinkpad yoga connected to 3 monitors via a USB 3.0 plugable dock

    OR

a thinkpad helix 2 conneted to 3 monitors via display port and display port adapters to VGA and HDMI

    ?

Does the i7 thinkpad yoga just blow the helix 2 out of the water in performance in general?

Today was the reveal for the next generation of Yoga product and yet no word on the ThinkPad Helix refresh. With no news to go off of, I took to Lenovo's chat service and eventually I was able to get valuable information from an agent who is apparently in the loop there. Here is the latest estimated date according to them:
For those unfamiliar with Hinduism, Diwali is a five-day festival held at the end of October, starting on October 23rd. So, we are looking at a release window ranging from October 23rd to October 27th.

My best guess personally would be the 24th or 25th since that would make it a weekend affair when shopping is hot. Recently, this is the on-going pattern Lenovo is following with reveals, including the newly launched Yoga products mentioned earlier. Mark your calendars!

Beat you by five weeks! :) Unfortunately it still lists "Coming soon". Ten more days if SonicHH360 is right. And then three more months to get the Pro keyboard.
