Today, the successor of the ThinkPad Helix, has leaked out: Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 2, IdeaTab S8 leaked ahead of IFA - Liliputing

Original Source: Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 2 e Lenovo Tab S8: immagini ufficiali - Notebook Italia (gone now)

Comparison old Helix vs. new Helix:

    New: http://abload.de/img/lenovo_thinkpad_helix48kst.jpg
    Old: http://abload.de/img/thinkpad_prince_standsyjkc.jpg
    New: http://abload.de/img/lenovo_thinkpad_helixomk8i.jpg

    Differences:
    - Much thinner and lighter, probably fanless (Core M?)
    - 2-Button ClickPad and dedicated TrackPoint-buttons
    - New pen (probably the same as ThinkPad 10, no slot in the device)
    - 3 different keyboard docks

    Announcement: Probably IFA 2014. :hi2:

Looks good! I would have liked a slimmer bezel though.

DOA If it is Haswell. Sorry Lenovo your product launches and releases blow chunks.

I would still consider it if it matches or beats the SP2 performance. Haswell solves the heat issues of the original Helix, and as much as I like the grab and go nature of the surface series, on occasion I still miss a true laptop mode. I just hope they wont wait till 2015 getting it to consumers!

Hopefully the USB is a full powered USB and this time around a SD card slot(even if its micro) is included. I wonder if a ThinkPad Yoga is also close to a refresh, maybe with longer battery life and slightly lighter body?

Interesting! The ThinkPad branding makes it seem like these would have pen support. Looking forward to some official announcements and release dates.

Woah, a 14 or 15-inch TP Yoga would be a great art machine, if it had a good digitizer. New Helix sounds interesting too.

I suspected Lenovo was going to be updating the TPY soon because you can no longer configure a custom one on the website (pre-built configs only).
