Dell has discontinued the XPS 12. It will not be replaced.

How do you know this? The guy on the phone at Dell said he can only send me an XPS 12 as a replacement and they can only send a different model if the given model is discontinued.

I've been using one for the past few days and, although it is ONLY my opinion, it's not worth it. The lack of a kick stand, to me, is a big thing (Especially seeing as I only have the tablet section and no keyboard). It also seems to be quite slow when compared to my i5 Surface 3. I've no idea why but it just feels that way. I might do a few tests later but, for now, I've moved on from it and await something else. All in all if it were a choice between this, or a Surface Pro 4, I'd go for the Pro 4 each and every single time. Sure, of course, the 4k screen 'is' a nice feature which looks stunning, but only you can decide if that's enough.

    P.s. I'm thinking that the SP 5 will have a 4k screen.

It could be the SSD, is your SSD upgraded or the original? My original SSD started some weird issues before I upgraded.

I prefer this device or SP3 and SP4, maybe even SP5 in certain way if MS doesn't do it right. Seems no other devices in the market has the ability of upgrade, I have installed a LTE modem and upgraded SSD to 1TB since I bought it, you can't beat this. The only complain so far is it doesn't have the GPS antenna, so I have the GPS built in now but can't use it.

Had anybody found a case that can be used with this device when you are using it as a tablet only? I don't use the keyboard much at all and prefer to use my xps 12 as a tablet with the dell pen. Unfortunately it is more fragile than I am comfortable with. I have not been able to find any kind of case that I can use with it

UPDATE: I found one on ebay. It has been ordered. I will try to post a review when it arrives and my repaired xps 12 arrives.
