I had to install the BIOS update (BETA) for my M4 before Vista would allow the install/upgrade. The install went just fine for the BIOS update as well as Vista. Since the Toshiba has removed all of the BETA drivers etc... for Vista and posted them under each model's support section, I have noticed that there is no BIOS update posted with all of the other Vista updates for the M4. Does anyone know if Toshiba is planning to post a final BIOS update for the model, or was it maybe an over sight and left out of the list? I hate running a version of BIOS that is no longer available for download. It was required by Vista before it would even attempt to install.

    Great, just downloaded it. Thanks

I doubt that any new functionality was add, or they would have boasted it in the change log. The model is after all discontinued, not likely to invest man hours making improvements, just fixes.

What are your vista performance scores once the bios is upgraded? (more importantly, what are they if you have a 6600 geforce??)

    Processor: 3.9
    Ram: 4.4
    Graphics: 4.3
    Gaming Graphics: 3.4
    Hard Drive: 4.1

Final score 3.4 (because of the Gaming score).
The Aero interface works very nice.
    Bios update didn't add anything.
    I have 2g cpu w/ 1g ram.
The video is the 128meg Go6600

I just got one myself and I am curious.

I tried to update my BIOS with version 3.2 so that I can install Vista on my computer and I am getting a popup that says:

    Toshiba Bios package Ver.3.2.1
Toshiba Common Modules is not installed
BIOS Package BIOS Version : Ver.3.20

Any Idea how I might go about fixing this so my BIOS will update and let me install Vista?

    Thanks

Hey, has anyone tried this bios with the Tecra M2?

The M2 isn't supported as being Vista compatible by Toshiba but I installed it anyways. - it works great, as good or better performance than I was getting from XP, but the Function Key utils (change display, brightness, etc) aren't working.

    Thanks!
