I am considering picking up a TC4200 and was happy to see this site listed as the third Google result for the search term "hp tc4200 memory). Couple of questions that I wasn't able to find the answer too that I was hoping someone might be able to help me answer:

    1. I know the machine has 2 memory slots, my question is are they both accessable? Meaning, if I ordered the machine with the standard 512MB of memory, that I could "rip" (okay, I'll gently remove it) that stick out and replace it with a 1GB stick?

    2. What kind of resolution (size and color depth) does the 4200 support when using an external display? I do some web development and work with some complex spreadsheets and would prefer to do that using an external display when in the office.

Thanks for your feedback and for creating this site!!

    Glad you found us...

    1) Yes, both slots are able to be accessed. The machine will support up to 2GB of RAM, though 1GB is surely sufficient.

    2) As for external display, this is from the HP site.

Up to 32-bit per pixel color depth
    Supports 640 x 480, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 768, 1280 x 1024, or 1600 x 1200 resolutions up to 100-Hz refresh rate, dependent upon monitor capability, and resolution and color depth settings
