Pft. With those specifications you have.. the T4220. Can't get any gateways here. =( But it's not WXGA. It can be SXGA though. There's also the M700 whenever it comes out I suppose. I believe uni would start before that happens.
Within Australia? Well good ol' staticice should be of use.

But it's so much cheaper to buy from the usa...by $1000aud xD

As for instore, North Sydney if you live in NSW has a few on display. Also, capitol square. Wireless1 has an R400 for example, though some of the staticice places have storefronts.

Hm, I was looking at the M700... tis perfect =( pity its not out in aus yet (and when it does, it'll probs be $3500+). And i cant think of an easy way of getting it here either.

I've checked out asus, and I do love their stuff... but the battery wear problem seems to be a big issue.

It'll be hard to find a tablet with a discrete-graphics solution.
I don't think they even exist though :\

They do exist. The gateway c140-x and so forth. But Australia doesn't have gateway and they won't ship here. Then there's the Tecra M7 but that's pretty old. However, the T4220 and M700 have x3100 at least.

Can't get hold of the M700 though... leaving the T4220 and R1E from my knowledge.
