Yes.. sitting in the tray it's consuming 3,768k but never gets called up to eat into CPU usage as a percentage.
As to the BIOS, yes.. will do.. Just as soon as I get an answer back from FSC UK :)

Thank you for your help! You do not need to call them if you do it just for me :) .

I did call but didn't manage to catch the guy I want to speak with.
He's away until next week, so I left the question with someone else...

I'll leave it until mid-week and if I have not heard anything further I'll call again:)

I'm running now 1.05 too. strangely, after the first reboot after the update i heard the fan during startup really the first time. but i can't say that i ever noticed before, so i'm not sure if this is new.

but kinda funny i thought, ok, that must be "normal" mode then. so i shut down again and checked BIOS - but surprisingly it was on "silent" already. well now i put it on "normal". I haven't done a direct comparison yet - but to be honest, normal sounds pretty silent to me too.

I'll do some testing between the two settings, but normal seems fine to me and if it just keeps the temp a bit lower as with "silent" i wont go to silent.

would be just good to know if 1.02 standard non-adjustable fan setting equals to the new "normal" or the new "silent".

btw, P8RSON, if you have that guy from FSC on the line, ask him about "Added new LCD information" - just wondering what's new about that. :)

Still no joy yet Pascal and unfortunately for the time being I'm laid up.
As such I only have limited time online/phone calls sorry.:(

ok, surely no problems. the engine runs nice and smoothly so far - so nothing that's dead important. :)

Fan noise... How bad is it? I'm a student that uses a ST5030D currently and it doesn't have fan noise at all, even in a quiet room. I'm thinking of upgrading to the 4215 but now I'm sort of freaking out over this issue. I do not want to annoy the teacher nor the other students.
    Help? :)
