Switching Latitude XT to from pen to touch mode: taptap. taptap. taptaptaptap. taptaptaptaptaptaptaptap WTF?

Does anyone else have this problem when switching the Latitude XT from stylus to touch-screen mode:

I try to double-tab. *taptap*

Nothing.

I try again. *taptap*

Nothing. I try a quadruple tap then another double tap.

Nothing.

I try to septuple tap. *taptaptaptaptaptaptap*

NOTHING! By now I'm telling the person I was showing the touch screen to "Yeah, Dell obviously has some work to do on it still."

Eventually it starts working but *taptap* never seems to do it. I've tried light taps, hard taps, carefully aimed taps. It seems like regardless of what I do I need to try multiple taps in multiple locations for 5-10 seconds before the mode will switch to touch.

I know there is a dual touch/pen mode but that is not what I want. I wish the XT switched to pen-only when the pen was close and changed to touch any other time like some other tablet convertibles.

Please always set your tablet in touch mode and set to pen mode only when use pen. Try to avoid auto mode. That should give you a better experience.
