My problem(s) instead is that I doubt the warranty would work in Italy too, since Microsoft isn't selling the Studio here anymore.
And the customs, I have no clue how much would be the import fee of such a used device with a transaction between two persons.

<<...And the customs, I have no clue how much would be the import fee of such a used device with a transaction between two persons...>>

...Having done a couple of international sales, I've discovered that it doesn't hurt to ask. Occasionally, you get answers that are surprisingly temperate and reasonable (for both parties...)

    <<...I recently sold a 2015 ThinkPad Yoga i5...for $300. That's well over 75% of value lost in 3 years...>>

...Tell me about it. Thanks to Moore's Law and the general march of progress, a computer's residual value falls faster than used dental floss. My resale experience has been exactly the same. And if your unit isn't in pristine condition, you can't even get those prices...!!

<<...And why they call jam "jelly"...>>

...Hey, we'll call it what we want! No European Socialist lingo for us... Well, not yet, anyway...!

I'm scared to discover it might be affordable. :D
(if it came from a shop though it would roughly be around $600 between VAT and import duties)

Well, tomorrow is November the 15th. I wonder if a Studio 2 will be waiting for me at my local Microsoft store?

And, of course, there's a winter storm warning for tonight and all day tomorrow. Snowmageddon.

    Coincidence...? You be the judge!

Amazingly, the Studio 2 is at the store and ready to pick up!

But I'm standing in my living room looking at the first heavy snow fall of the season... and it's still snowing. I'm going to have to wait for the snowplows to get to our subdivision!

Well... No. For some reason, the Microsoft store has completely fumbled the ball on this.

Wednesday evening, got an e-mail from the store that the Studio 2 was in and ready to pick up. Later that evening and into Thursday, snowmageddon struck. I waited until things settled down (i.e., snow plows arrived), then dug out the driveway and cautiously made my way to the store... but the Studio 2 wasn't there! FedEx was delayed by the storm... Special note: I had no problem with FedEx being delayed, but I had a big problem with the e-mail being sent without VERIFICATION...!

Today, Friday, I called the store around lunch time. Yes, the studio 2's have been delivered. Are you sure? Have you actually seen them in the stockroom? The Studio 2's have been delivered... So I sacrificed my lunch and drove over to the store only to discover that the model that I had ordered had NOT been delivered. In fact, no one had any idea when it would be! Strongly worded statements followed. I almost bought a more expensive model until they told me I'd have to wait for that one as well.

Finally told them that the next time they tell me it's ready to pick up, it had better be there.

So now I'm just hanging. No guess at when this thing might arrive. Maybe it's December the 6th, who knows...

I'm surprised the store manager didn't immediately offer some kind of compensation. You are probably one of their precious few customers willing to purchase Studio 2 (hence why they carry none in-stock, lol), you'd think they would want you to leave with the very best of impressions.

Throw maybe a free Surface Dial, so you don't feel like you've wasted your time.

Costs MS hardly anything, but it would improve you and your wife's experience with device, and reflect nicely on the Store's sales metrics.

I'd seriously consider asking the store manager about it...should they drop the ball again.
