I have a Surface Pro 4, but it seems to have run into display issues (flickering/shaking display) which do not yet have a resolution or even proper acknowledgement. I've had other issues with other SP4s so I'm starting to think maybe the Surface Pros are not very reliable and I should expand my options even though I love the Surface Pro (if it didn't fail so easily).

Wondering if there are other tablets that have relatively less cases of failure?

    I'm looking at:
    1. HP Elite X2
    2. Samsung Galaxy Book
    3. Lenovo Yoga 720
    4. Huawei Matebook
    5. I'd look at the Eve V, but doesn't seem like something I could get my hands on.
Are there others to consider and does anyone have experience with the above? Would you recommend any? Would you stay away from any?

    My main requirements are:
    1. Windows 10
    2. Good Pen input. At least N-Trig or Wacom. My SP4's N-Trig pen seems to have gotten worse as time went by (jitter, extra lines) so I'm thinking to try something that uses Wacom.
    3. At least 8GB RAM
    4. At least a CoreM3 or i5Y, 7th gen CPU
Although my SP4 is an i5U I'm thinking of going down a notch to something that runs cooler and is fanless.

I want to stay around the $1000 mark and I prefer buying new.

You should totally checkout lenovo yoga 720 12.5" model on best buy! Its great price! At $659 It just doesn't have a thunderbolt C like the 13" models.
That is the only interesting thing I know ATM. I'm sure other members have better suggestions.

If you can stretch your budget, and don't mind a machine which runs a bit hot and has a fan, the Samsung Galaxy Book 12 is just about perfect (at least for my needs) --- now if we could only sort out the Fall Creators Update and selecting text and drop down menus in certain QT apps.

My vote would also be for the Samsung Galaxy Book, but that's just b/c i'm slightly obsessed with EMR.

Idk why but I would love to hear a ASMR of someone saying Wacom EMR like porn to my ears...maybe because the pens are 10X easier and cheaper to replace and has so much comfortable response over Aes -which isn't very far from EMR

@jm2c since you consider Yoga 720, take a look at Thinkpad Yoga 370 as well. Brighter display & business-class quality - better keyboard with trackpoint, easily upgradeable storage, RAM & LTE (machines with LTE pre-installed from factory come with soldered RAM, though). Note that it has Wacom AES and fan.

I went with the Samsung Galaxy Book 12 8GB/256SSD. So far it is nice, hopefully it will last longer and be less problematic than my SP4.

No love for the new Lenovo Miix 520? 1000 gets you 8th gen quad core i5 w 8GB RAM and 256GB PCIe SSD, with the keyboard and pen included.

    Okay.., I give up.

The internet tells me that ASMR =

    "A Sailor Moon Romance"
    "Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response"
    "Age Standardized Mortality Rate"
"American Society of Mining and Reclamation"

    None of those sound right.

It sounds like a lovely machine. I have the i3 Miix 510 and love it so the newer machine sounds great.
