I was not happy with the wear on my alacantara cover on the Go 1 so I went black on the Go 2. Far happier. No Chettos here either.

    And it's even cheaper. Win-win!

My guess is you won´t be able to buy the SP 8, it will be released on a subscription model, including Microsoft 365.

Now that I've been able to catch up on alot of the news regarding Intels Tiger Lake announcement, can't help but wonder, but is anyone here optimistic that the Surface Pro 8 will actually utilize TB4?

I have this nagging feeling that when the Pro 8 hits, its still only going to have USB-C 3.2

I seem to recall Daniel Rubino saying several years ago that one of the reasons Microsoft hadn’t included TB3 was because there weren’t enough PCIE lanes to support both TB3 and the Surface Connect port.

Time to make a TB4-to-Surface Connect adapter, bite the bullet, and get rid of the Surface Connect port. Or perhaps TB4 offers more PCIE lanes?

That was their main excuse for a while, but that excuse much like the Surface Pro itself is just looking old and stale at this point. Microsoft just seems hellbent on fighting the forward flowing tech current and keeping the Pro anchored in the same spot. Other companies have no problem creating their own docks with thunderbolt 3, Microsoft is the only real holdout and its make's no sense at this point.
