Tech lust has its claws deep in me this time.

As I pine for the Surface Pro 8 and iPad Mini 6 despite both my Surface Pro 5 and iPad Mini 5 still working quite well. However in both cases, its the pen usage that is drawing me in.

My Slim Pen 1 still works, but its battery charge isn't what it used to be, and I hate carrying that stupid charging cradle. And on the iPad front, my 1st gen Apple Pencil died and I'd rather not buy another Gen 1 Pencil. These are also my two devices that don't use USB-C, so updating both will make every device I own USB-C (not counting some mice and headphones).

With the iPad Mini 6, I'm even tempted to trade in my Mini 5 since its the 256GB model and still has a decent trade in value ($200+ ish I think). My Pro 5 however...given how little its worth, I'm better off just keeping it.

Excellent rationalizations, my friend. You pass; go ahead and fulfill your desires!

#2 is coming in early, I pulled the trigger on the i7/16GB/256GB, and felt you should all know that you're a terrible influence and ought to be ashamed of yourselves :p

I'd say they are better than rationalizations - pretty good substantive arguments in my book!

It was far more convenient once all the devices were USB C.

I probably keep asking this, but would you consider selling on swappa? Low sale fees, and even the 64GB go for 250-300.

    Grabbed myself the following:

    WDC 512GB SSD / NVMe / PC SN530

    £50.

Supposedly, on paper at least, it's the fastest 2230 you can buy. When compared to the Kioxia it's looking good.

    Toshiba/Kioxia BG4: 512 - 1Tb
    Read: 2200 MB/s - 2300 MB/s
    Write: 1400 MB/s - 1800 MB/s

    WD: 512Gb - 1Tb
    Read: 2400 MB/s - 2400 MB/s
    Write: 1750 MB/s - 1950 MB/s

I have around 121Gb on my 400Gb SDCard and it really is a shame that the SP8 didn't arrive with the usual card option.

That means that I need more than 256Gb storage. I ain't paying crazy prices though! No Sir, not TODAY! Also, 1tb isn't worth the extra cost if the space just sits there.

I probably should, especially since I could sweeten the pot with 2 different keyboard accessories, but I hate selling ****, and there's no guarantee anyone will buy mine. Especially with a new model out, I'd expect there would more Mini 5's than ever for sale now.
