5k screen is not gonna surprise anyone, they can just follow the iPhone Xr vs Xs model that appleahas introduced, throwing in a better display for more money. That's just more goods for more bucks.

What would really surprise the tabletpc users, the calligraphers, artists, students, designers, engineers, achitects mathematicians and doctors, is only one thing, a pen and digitizer, that is better than Apple Pencil, in terms of actual specs, i.e, IAF and digitizer report rate. That will be real innovation, that can really throw things out of the water.

That's the only thing keeping creators from entering the digital realm of mobile productivity. They can ask more money for a 5k res tablet, but improving pen technology is not something that will create profit for them directly in the short term. They will have to do it purely for the user experience. And, that is what Apple different from Microsoft.

Still, fingers crossed for October 2 event, may be this time MPP wont suck.

    Painted it black.*

*with the same attention as paid to the sound of the hinge.

I jest, they did more, but noting really that different or interesting. No new stand design. No improvement in the number of ports. No real change in the display.
It's a safe and boring update.

For a those who take notes with a pen, this event was just as boring as recent Apple events. Even, though last year's pen specs like 9 gram IAF and <150 Hz report rate, were disappointing but still Microsoft's Pen technology looked like, it was heading in the right direction. There was a significant reduction in IAF and Cursor latency was reduced.

But this, time around all we have is the same old.

NTrig still has not been able to match Apple pencil tech from 2015.

That would require Thunderbolt 3 USB-C......and given how long Microsoft has held off on USB-C itself.....as much as Thunderbolt 3 would make more sense....I have an awful feeling they may just put USB-C plain.

And I’m not sure how accurate that Figure 7 image is. It legit looks like a Pro 6, with an additional USB-C port......given how USB-C was supposed to have been included on the Surface Laptop 1 (since that did actually leak) .....I really think that image is from what the Pro 6 might have been.

Has anyone tried a driver that adds 'wave mapper', to their SP6, in order to record audio?

    Thanks.
