Well to update on my experience: still no functional problems, no standby problems or display things that I have noticed. Fan has never come back on after the first day.

But....the screen flex is seeming more annoying. I have a new spot of light bleed on bottom which is still somewhat insignificant, but I flex'ed a new bleed? Disturbing. I've noticed that my downward lines in short strokes sometimes go squiggly when writing in the middle-right upper area of screen. I'm not sure if it's that location is doing weird things or if this is a strange flex spot from palm resting below it...happening too infrequently to test well. If I wasn't reading all the problems others are having I'd think about exchanging, but comparatively minor...I guess.

Well seeing how Microsoft made the bone headed move to actually take away gestures in win10 and Edge, it doesn't surprise me.

I picked up my surface pro 4 i5/256g from bestbuy yesterday. After letting it do its work overnight (100g onedrive sync, update and so on), almost everything is working well. No fan noise, no heat, good battery life (more than 7 hours).

I have some minor issues: 1. light bleeding (only visible during start up). 2. video driver crash while using edge. 3. Connected standby not working (2% per hour battery drain during the standby and 0% low power state from "sleep study" until hibernate)

I've now examined three SP4s up close and light bleed to varying degrees seems to be standard.

None of the three units had bad light bleed, but all to some minor extent.

If it's only evident on start-up (completely black screen) and/or at 100% brightness on back screen in dark room, then I think that's pretty the price of doing business.

Never have or had noise fan when Windows defender is active in my i5 SP3.
The only time fan kicks on was on summer with 35 C degree.

In under normal condition you shouldn't either have fan noise.

Shame on MS so many issue with the releasing of the product.
I'm very skeptical for upgrade to SP4.

The other downgrade issue is the performance of SSD in m3/i5 version with 128gb storage.

That's why I'm thinking the i5/8/256 version and hoping until Christmas find it lower price.

Until then I will only upgrade with the new type cover and wait.
