Question about SP4 durability experiences: I work in South East Asia and the heat / humidity / dust / ants are pretty brutal on electronics here (the people / culture / work / food / scenery more than make up for those difficulties though).

I am wondering if people feel that a SP4 is robust enough to last in an environment like this. I travel a ton for work, and tend to be a person who draws out ideas graphically rather than typing them up; so a Surface Pro seems like it fits the bill, but I'd love to hear if other people have used a SP in this type of environment. If not, maybe a milspec-type laptop maybe my best option. Thanks!

My SP4 is going back due to poor wifi performance. I guess the search continues. I"ll have to decide if I think it was just a bad one and it's worth trying again.

...Given the issues with humidity, dust and insects, a sealed unit like the Surface 3 might be a better choice for you. Conversely, this might make heat an issue for you, but it sounds like the S3 would make a more sensible starting point for you...

Guys..quick question. Can you personalize the surface 4 pen buttons? I want it to open note 2016...and not the other version. The windows store shows the surface app.. where on the screen it shows you can customize it... but for me this option doesnt exist.. its only allows me to pen sensitivity test

Yes. It needs a Surface app update from the Store. Just search for "surface" in the Store and you will find it.

Are you using a Surface Pro 4 or Pro 3?

Then you probably need to uninstall the Surface app, run Windows Update and after that go into Windows Store and take down the app called Sirface Hub
