Sayonara, SP4. It was good while it lasted and I think I loved you. When you black-screened and revealed a bad pixel, however, the enchantment was broken long enough for me to reassess my needs. You're a great tablet but there are better options for the price when when what I want/need is a low-energy-consumption desktop (all-in-one or whatever).

[In other words I just got my refund for the returned SP4 m3; now I will build an Intel NUC i5 6260u (Iris 540 graphics), 8/256 GB system with 23.6" 4k monitor. Same $$ as the SP4.]

    Did your SP4 i7 come with a 36W or a 65W charger?

If I'm reading your handle right it might be time to change your name to micraster. :D

Haha. The handle doesn't have that kind of meaning, but that's clever. :D

Can't say for sure but with that experience in playing SWTOR and from some searching I assume the pack-in to be 36W. I will know better once the 65W power supply arrives, hopefully today. When it does I will start up SWTOR with a non-fully charged SP4, plug in the new power supply and see what happens.

Battery life is all over the place right now. I'm not doing anything unusually intensive. Sometimes at 100% it says 8.5 hours remaining, although it's never anywhere close to that. Now it's saying like 2 hours at full charge!! Is it related to the latest update? Or a faulty battery?

Wow, this is ridiculous. Microsoft has launched ONLY the i3 variant of the Pro 3, and has launched two i5 variants and one i7(8GB) variant for the Pro 4 here. On top of which, the prices are insane! $1800 for an i5/8GB/256?!?

Now I just need to figure out how they'll be dealing with warranty over here; then I can try and get a friend or family member to pick one up for me from the US. Does Microsoft generally offer an international warranty?

It looks like they are trying to sell the unsold and less popular variants of surface in India !
