Whenever I draw in zbrush or fresh paint, I have to press very hard to get it to a decent dark line. I have a very light touch though, is there a way of changing how hard I have to press to chance line weight?

Not right now, but we are expecting Microsoft to release an updated pen driver in the near future (possibly as early as next month). Beta versions of this driver allowed the user to vary the pen pressure curve...

It seems if you have quick short strokes, the pen can not seem to keep
    up and misses strokes.

I have experienced the same behavior.

Also, my pen will quit at various times.
This requires to unscrew the pen, scrape the battery top,
    and pull out the tip.
It then restores(most of the time) the cursor.

I have hover clicking fits, ala Dell Venue 8 Pro stylus, at various times too.
The screens resize, the split screen will pop up, and the
window will jitter up and down. All without toucing the screen.
After some time it will quit, or if I reboot it will straighten
    it out.

    My machine is possessed!

Sam 2013, you should consider exchanging your uniT. I exchanged mine due to a faulty screen, the second one we tried at the store and the pen was jittery and would draw even during hover. I refused it and then got a third unit which I tested and it was great. I think some units suffer from these issues and calibration wont help.

Also discovered two other things. 1) if you have sugarsync installed then attempts to refresh the tablet will fail.
    2) if you install visual studio or anything that runs hyper-V then connected standby will fail. This, in turn will cause numerous fails with WiFi.

...For a hint, see posts #81 - 84 in this thread.

We're not sure when the updated driver will be generally available...

I didn't mean to give anyone the impression that I've actually seen or used this control panel. I've been assured it's in the works by Microsoft staff, but that's it.

Well, I can't even search for the issue as I am not even sure what terms to use. Yea, the problem you described with the quick strokes is exactly what is happening. The pen also goes completely inactive for a couple seconds at certain times as you stated. Is this happening for any other note takers? I really want to keep this device but if this is a known, widespread issue then I will immediately return it.

It could be a defective pen. Have you tried replacing the battery?

No I haven't yet but I will try that. I did read in another review actually of one other person experiencing similar kinds of things.
