I can't be sure but your USB driver might have been botched in an upgrade. Like it was reporting the latest driver but it is only 80% there. You might have to physically remove it and run a new update.

Are your screens just "turned off" or is hibernation enabled on your SP3, messing with you?

Yes, tried deleting all USB in Device manager.
    Results in error message:
"Unknown USB Device: Descripter Request Failed"
Delete and let reinstall, still get above message.

Deleting them in Device Manager isn't enough, they have to be removed from the hard drive. When Microsoft upgrade those drivers the .cab does are also overwritten. Since USB drives are fundamental for the workings of your PC, remember they no longer have floppy drives, they are immediately restored from those .cab files. That is how you force Windows Upgrade to take them down from the servers. Be sure to be plugged in during the whole process.

    OK.
Where do I find the CAB file that contains the USB Driver?
What is the name of the CAB file?
Can I manually delete and then down load the new file,
or will it re-install on reboot ?

    Thanks

In these cases it differes between computers because there are machine specific drivers. Hence, GIYF.

    Dear friends,
Could You help with following questioin regarding SP3... I have an SP3 i3-64 with broken screen. So I received the new screen from Ebay and now I'm thinking about changing also SSD to 250GB. Will it cause any problems for me and what SSD form factor do I need for it? Could I use Samsung Evo series for it?
    Thank You for Your reply.
