Anyone heard any updates on whether Microsoft has fixed overnight power drain with the SP3 ? One review stated there was an issue but expected a MS patch before release. I forget which of the many, many reviews I have read mentioned this, but it did.

I battled with overnight power drain on my Samsung Ativ 500t and won't do that again.

If no one has heard anything, I will wait for the first consumer review.

    Thanks

    TC

My belief is you will see reports regardless. My plan is a) disable keyboard waking tablet to prevent that problem which def occurred with previous models and b) disable connected standby if I can. If that doesn't do the trick then well...I'll be very sad

Alright Jeff who or what is MJF? I hate it when you guys talk in code. I'm an Android geek just trying to catch up here.

Count on it Jeff. I'm googling for your cell number now because I know after I get my SP 3 I'll have some late night (urgent) questions that just can't wait till the crack of dawn!

According to one of the videos I saw, the Pro 3 only goes into Connected Standby for about 4 hours, before it then fully hibernates.

I have no desire for connected standby. I feel its one of those choices for use case...I'm not going to use my surface for instant communication or notifications, so its a pointless feature to me that will hurt battery (a little or a lot? *shrug*)
