yea I am waiting for matching color for the pen for sure... I can wait on it for a little while.

also for the device name I call it Surface Pro 2017 in my email work signature :)

I decided to just get the platinum pen that is available now. It will be magnetically clipped to the body of the nSP, which is platinum color, so it actually doesn't look bad.

...My reasoning also. Also, there has been a report of the colored hard anodizing rubbing off on an SP4 pen (with apologies to @manuelcalavera 's OCD) !!

<<...because that abbreviation doesn't actually refer to any specific model...>>

...Please use whatever moniker you want. I'm just saying that I'm going to stick with nSP...

Different subject: Does anyone know if the microSD card slot supports UHS-2? I assume that it's likely only UHS-1 but I haven't seen anything in print that says one way or the other...

Also, my Alcantera is less aromatic today...

Alright, I've settled on 2 possible abbreviations:

SP'17 - not bad, but it's still five characters long (and maybe suffer from ambiguity in the event of a mid-cycle refresh in the same year)

    and:

SPv5 - almost as short as "nSP", but has the advantage of precision (and the ability to append a x.5, in the event of a mid-cycle refresh).

That also takes care of the possibility of MS releasing a real "Surface Pro 5", for which we can simply use "SP5".

I think SPv5 is a good all-round compromise for future naming consistency. How does this sound?

...If Microsoft is on the ball, it won't be long before they introduce their line of "New Alcantera air fresheners" that you can clip to your Type Cover so you'll always have that fresh Alcantera smell... (Plus, after hours of exposure, you won't have to turn on your nSP to "see" things on the screen...!
