The two reviews I saw were of the i5 model, which say battery life is around 7-8 hours. I am wondering what the battery life is like on the M3 model. Is it possible it's 9 hours since that is the Y series cpu and no the U in the i5 and i7 models?

Just installed Sketchable and paired the Dial. Voila! The Dial now interacts with the screen a la Studio! Place the Dial on the screen and you get the surrounding adjustment rings!

Is it practical to use like that? Seems like it takes up so much of the screen. I wish they would come out with a "mobile" Dial that was at least 1/2 the diameter of the current Dial to use on the SP. I think it would be much better and would buy one in a second.

<<...Seems like it takes up so much of the screen...>>

...In truth, it does. It strikes me as more of a novelty than a practical implementation...

To add insult to further new Surface pen-related injury, the tips are not compatible with previous generation replacements. The old tip shaft diameter appears to be slightly too wide.

Hey @Steve S, I know why I buy all these toys I don't have the time to use properly. What's your excuse?

Hey guys! Could you test the new Surface Pen on the Z Canvas and see if you notice any hover latency improvements or reduced IAF?

So far, I can confirm that the new pen with its one and only HB tip requires less IAF than the Surface Pro 4 pen with HB tip on a Surface Pro 3. Comparing the new HB/pen combo with the older pen with 2H nib, the two are neck and neck.

I'll take a look at the VAIO shortly.

would be interesting then to see the new pen with the the 2H nib or something similar.

As I noted above, the new pen is incompatible with the old tips and only ships with one HB nib. So that comparison will have to wait until Microsoft releases a new replacement tip kit. :(
