Can it be that 49Wh is for i5 without cooler, and that i7 is having 45Wh?

I do want to look at it. I'm interested in the GB10, the new Surface Pro and I'm waiting to see what WOA will bring. A fanless I5 is very tempting if MS has been able to deal with the heat. But, I still suspect that the size is too big for me.

<<...Can it be that 49Wh is for i5 without cooler, and that i7 is having 45Wh?..>>

...I doubt it. To the extent that it is possible, most designer will try to keep as many parts as possible (e.g. the battery) common within a product family (the lowest cost approach).

That is how I see it as well, but it will not be only non logical thing that Microsoft is giving us...

now when they remove numbers from naming will be nice to have application like mactracker or some web site like everymac to have a place where you can trace models etc

I am not convinced on this...Lisa maybe just looked at the batteryinfo and the unit she looked at is 49wh.
    To me:
It is normal that a new unit has battery capacity larger than designed capacity. Even 9% more.
It is unusual that Microsoft will change battery 20 days prior than its launch date and I don't think Microsoft will display preproduction unit.

Also here is some interesting stuff: base on 1:36 in
you can actually see the battery capacity printed on the battery. (thanks to Austin shot the video in 4k) It has 4 pieces and the capacities are
two 11.0wh and two 12.2wh. So the actually designed capacity should not exceed the sum which is 46.4wh. Unless Microsoft will change the battery completely along the new surface pro line and tell everybody their display thing in their shanghai event is wrong....

Why so much concern about capacity - just take the "claimed hours" and multiply by 60% and you'll get real run time.

No need to worry about wh

Wow, no pen included? The cheapest version with 16GB is $2,199.00. When are these tablet makers going to give us an i5 option with 16GB of ram?

Never, that is not an option, don't count on it!
Oh this article was so good to read: http://www.pcworld.com/article/3198...-is-a-laptop-bundle-it-with-a-type-cover.html

I think that after Microsoft learned from Apple about farming and iSheeps, now we will have a new breed of sheep: msheep!

Ya, I think once you incorporate tilt into your pen the rules say you can charge $99 for it.

I also liked how they called it a laptop, but you just get the tablet.

The prices for both the Surface Studio and this in Europe are a robbery.
First time I have to say this of Microsoft, but they really went fullyl Apple this time. -.-
