Maybe it is a problem with N-Trig devices. I stopped using mine at this point. I just use the pen from my SP4.

Wow, Windows Update totally rooted the pen. Out of curiosity: anyone here actually want to use their surface pen for scrolling? Because they chose that over using it for drawing in Photoshop.

I've been lenient with MS in the past but this is disgustingly negligent. People need to be fired.

Are we expecting anything from Build 2018 in two weeks?

Also curious... Say I do get a SB2... Is the base i5 model worth it? Because that one's not that much more expensive than a SP + typecover.

Per AnandTech’s review, the Surface Book 2 has far longer battery life (docked, of course), and a higher resolution screen with better contrast and color accuracy than the New Surface Pro.

When I looked closely and compared it side by side with the New Surface Pro at the store, its display also did look appreciably better—subjectively speaking, deeper blacks and richer colors.

Republic Bank, one of our local institutions has gone all Surface Pro for its staff. No need for a separate signing pad on the desk. Looks like they're using the 2017 version Pro. Wonder how they're configured.

I realy really doubt will see any succesor now.
The chances are more September-October for succesoor.

As for the question if tablet mode is more important than ultrabook mode then Surface Pro 2017 is ideal for that usage

Imma say 60/40 in favor of ultrabook mode. I'd use the tablet for watching video / browsing on the couch in the evening, but the ultrabook for the rest of the day getting **** done. More battery life appeals to me, but the SB2 doesn't seem all that lapable. Plus, if you're going to splurge on a fat machine like that, do you really only want an i5/8GB? I mean, it's not like I'll do anything spectacular with it, but 2250 euro otherwise buys me a pretty impressively specced conventional laptop.

It's either 1435 for Surface Pro + TypeCover or 1750 for same specced Surface Book 2. ;)

In which case I'd prefer a SP for form factor. And pricing.

Again, isn't it missing the purpose of a machine like the SB2 by not getting the i7 with GPU? Why else would you get it?

Sure, I simply took into account your preference for a laptop first device.
In the end if you find acceptable the performance of the Surface Pro i5, the Book 2 is the same just bigger.
