Anyone knows if Microsoft used aluminum for the frame this time? Or that same insta-scratch magnesium BS?

That info is not privy to me, but I can reach out to my MVP channels and see if I get anything....

Any indication if the SP4 type cover w/ fingerprint reader is compatible?

I...don't think I felt it lighter than S3. S3 was shockingly light to me when I had it in hand, but nSP's weight was not so impressive to me.

I am heading over now. If the permissions on the Surface display unit don't allow me to do a traditional battery report, I will use my portable version of HWiNFO to get the battery information.

I just arrived in the mall and I will be over in a few minutes. I am beyond excited to finally see it in the flesh!

Can you comment on the new surface pen as well?

My local BestBuy has none of the new SP's on display. They don't even have a display model of the Surface Laptop. Even worse, not a Samsung Galaxy Book in sight either. Jesus BB!

I am uploading this from the new Surface Pro. Here is the rated battery capacity: 49 Wh. (As confirmed by Lisa Gade at @MobileTechReview. Please ignore the erroneous 45 Whr rated capacity that this preproduction model is reporting. The 49 Whr capacity is the actual rating.) Holy energy cramming, Batman!
