Spent my first twenty years at Exit 82, so I know about NJ traffic; especially in the summer when all the Benny's come down.

You'll easily get 10+ with the SP2017 i5 and light use. Photoshop I reach ~7hrs which is usually just shy of the workday so I usually plug in to be safe. I can max out the brightness then too. The studio is pretty bright. (⌐■_■)
But yeah, 17 is next level.

    A sad story: :(

I had to let go of the Surface Book, to the Marketing department so had to fall back to a SP3 i3. It's still not a bad device but I've decided to move to a SP 2017 Core M device. Hope it's all it should be. :) (Secretly I want a Surface Book 2 15")

I'm not impressed! I've been using the SP3 i3 model, for a few days without issue other than the 64Gb storage, and the core M 2017 SP5 just isn't cutting it.

I'm uploading 3 videos to Youtube, with 100% disk use, 60% ram, and it's running like a snail. I really thought that this would blow the i3 model out of the water but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I have no choice but to get a Surface Book 2 (i7).

Although I'm returning mine for other reasons, I found my core M 2017 nSP to be quite zippy. The 100% disk use is not normal, and would be what is slowing your device down like crazy (whenever I've had devices at 100% disk usage, the thing becomes unusable). Is it perhaps still doing Windows Defender Scans, hard drive cataloging, etc.? I might give it a couple of days to settle down and see if you're still having issues.

My m3 SP5 is also slow as hell, and I do have a fast Samsung drive. Damn!
