OK, now that it's announced I think this deserves its own rumor-free discussion thread. There is another one for the Surface 2. Have at it. And by the way, the upgrades look great!

Main product page: Surface Pro 2

    Improvements:
    - 75% more battery life!
    - 50% better GPU performance
    - 20% better general performance
    - 46% more color accurate display
    - cooler, quieter
    - two-angle kickstand

    New accessories
    - docking station (early '14) with 3xUSB2, 1x USB3, midi-DP, ethernet, audio. Max video out 3840x2160
    - touch cover: backlit, thinner, lighter, with over ten times the number of sensors = more responsive
    - type cover: backlit, thinner, lighter, proximity sensor to dim backlight when not in use (and no more clickpad?)
    - power cover with 31Whr battery for 40% more battery life (not backlit)
    - bluetooth adapter for all covers (type remotely)
    - remix cover for music applications

    Pricing
    4GB of RAM, 64GB of Storage: $900
    4GB of RAM, 128GB of Storage: $1000

Can we get a weight/size comparison to the SP1? It looks the same thickness or slightly thinner, I want to know how much thinner and especially how much less it weighs.

I think $1500 is a fair price for the 256gb with power cover.

I want everything they talked about...haha damn...if I only knew I would've waited. My 128gb is like a month old now. Dang..I want the new surface. I'd get the 256gb version with 8gb RAM. And a power cover.

Did they mention the pro2 having its thickness or weight reduced?

The rumors were pretty much spot on, with the exception that the increase in sensor density on the touch cover was not mentioned anywhere I think. I expect that's going to be a pretty great improvement. I'm in for the 256GB/8GB. I'll do some more soul searching before hitting buy, but this looks close to perfect.

Still no silo on the slate though.. Annotation in general was not pushed very much (at all?) in the presentation.

Dam I hope that price includes the cover. I could personally be fine with the 128gb if it came with 8gb ram.

Not that I saw on the live blog. They mentioned this for the RT model though, but didn't give numbers.

The Verge hands on says the Pro feels like the same size/weight.

It's the same, not confirmed, but they'd have mentioned it as a benefit if it was any thinner or lighter.

I'm wondering how much of an improvement the two new covers are. The Touch Cover 2 seems like it might be drastically better, the Type Cover 2 maybe only marginally better.
