So cursed. There's no ROFL emoji in our forum software but that's the one I'd use to aptly describe the situation.

Thanks, but that was then, this is now. I've gone the Samsung/EMR route extensively since then. I'm kinda all-in now.

Purely anecdotal right now, but I think it's more to due with the i5 non dedicated graphics version not selling well at all.
Speaking for both our own company and a couple of our larger Surface customers, we are all only buying the i7 dedicated graphics versions.

One CTO told me that he couldn't see the point of the i5 version as the form factor alone doesn't make sense to him and they would instead more likely buy a Pro 8 for most users.

For me it would be the same. I seriously considered the new Surfaces and concluded it would be SP8 if I wanted to spend less. Definitely the i7 w/dGPU if I went with the Laptop Studio. I like the form factor but a SP8 would be more all-around useful for me if graphics ooomph isn't added into the equation.

Great, all the more for me! I'm that one buyer who already has a perfectly fine GTX1070 eGPU sitting at home, so I don't need the dGPU, plus I do like the form factor (minus the cooling crate). I only wish I could get 32GB RAM with the i5 version.

Next question: what will arrive first, my ProVantage order, or a BestBuy discount that matches the ProVantage pricing. BestBuy "acceptable" open box condition is already down to $1080, so we're getting closer.

Hey everyone. Sorry for not getting back sooner and being a bit quiet lately. I’ve been busy working on assembling a maxed out 3D printer (Voron 2.4) in my spare time which together with the holiday festivities has been keeping me fairly occupied. When I last again called Provantage on the 13th of this week, the latest ETA they gave me was still January 3rd. Hope this helps! Merry Christmas!
