While the Core m3 would certainly be preferable to the Pentium Gold.....that specific Core m3 is kind of old....,it was launched 3rd quarter 2018....like that should have been the processor we had in the first GO. I guess part of the reason to stick with the 8100y probably had something to with Intel changing up the y-series processors with the 10th gen....doubling their TDP from 4.5 watts to 9w.....so essentially a 10th gen Core m3 equivalent would sip too much power.

If the rumor is true, I'll be upgrading.

What if it comes with the same battery capacity?
I thought we all agreed, no compromises!

I have my Go since few weeks now. 8 GB changed my life compared to the GB10. I do not complain about the processor. The screen is a little bit smaller, it was disturbing at the beginning, but now it's ok. I really like the fact that the keyboard has lights, even if I prefer the keys of the GB10. I really really love the stand, it is no more a nightmare to put the Go on my laps, and in addition I can remove the keyboard and continue to make it stand in front of me. Yep, the battery drains more rapidly, but it charges also more rapidly and I have always a 10000 bank with me. And the pen is far way better than the first NTrig with the HP slate. And in fact enough good for me compared to EMR, but I am not an artist.

So even if it is an old device, it is always a device I was please to buy.

Based on what I've seen with MS before, this is likely NOT a real device or at least an update to the current Go. It's common for them to test prototypes with identifies that look like variations on existing models (recently the Surface Book 2, which showed up originally as an unreleased surface pro and the surface go itself which first appeared as a variation on the surface laptop.

My money on a Go successor if there even is one, would be something with a Snapdragon chip. Which potentially brings a more iPad like thinness and battery life both of which are the biggest complaints about the current Go from what we've been told and not performance.

My $.02 for what it's worth and of course I could be wrong.

PS: Another thing that makes me think this won't happen is the pricing on the current Surface Pro 7 with an i3. even though it has less RAM than the higher end go, out performs it and the pricing difference in corporate is less than $50. Additionally it fits the standard form factor of the Pro. And from what we've been told, the best sales of the go were to business not consumer.
