For me, seeing as I love my Huawei Mate 20 x, I simply couldn't justify the Duo's price. Why not? The camera. I use my Mate 20 x for the camera, leaving the Nikon at home gathering a bit of dust. The duo, other than two screens, gives me absolutely NOTHING when compared to the 20 x. The price is just stupid, as it is for the Samsung note 20 or S20 ultra.

These companies are laughing all the way to the bank.

P.s. I'll buy a Duo, from eBay, when they hit £450 in seven months time.

So, now it's really official :
    https://www.theverge.com/2020/8/12/...rface-duo-release-date-pricing-features-specs

    https://www.windowscentral.com/surface-duo-preorder-where-buy

Microsoft is launching its Surface Duo dual-screen Android phone on September 10th, priced from $1,399. After months of Microsoft executives teasing the device on Twitter, the company is now allowing anyone to preorder the Surface Duo today in the US. Preorders will be available at AT&T, Microsoft’s online store, and Best Buy.

    Get those charge cards ready.

    Off to the races.

I was just thinking out of curiosity, I wonder how the pen will work with more than one device anyway. I know on the Pro X it bluetooth pairs as soon as you hold it up to the screen, I wonder if it's going to pair with the Duo the same way. I feel like if it was me I'd want the button always paired with my PC, not my phone.

But it doesn't really matter anyway since there's no chance of me buying this.

Well I'm all in as soon as preorders actually go live.

Interestingly our sources say that initially there will only be a 128GB option. Unclear as to why and when the 256GB configuration will be available if at all. That info also comes from a source with a less than perfect track record. Possibly covid related supply chain constraints ? (certain storage tech has had periodic intermittent shortages since this covid stuff began)?

@jhoff80 my manager wants one as well and had the same question since he is both an active Pro X and Surface book user.

We have a question in to MS about that.

PS: Confirmed that both the regular surface pen and pro x slim pen are compatible, but neither comes in the box.

second edit: found SKU for the 256GB version as well so I guess we will have both. No price info though

In fairness, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip (MUCH smaller screen, no pen) starts at $1,299.
