, yeah I still use my Lumia 950 XL camera, especially the photos taken in bright light or with flash on are superb.

Anyone experiencing camera weirdness after the latest update?

Primarily not holding settings or overly bright photos. It's very inconsistent, but it's not limited to just my personal device as one of our engineers reported similar with one of our lab units.

No camera issues, but I am seeing "touchy" screen rotation and less responsiveness to gestures. The Duo will rotate to the wrong screen orientation and then won't easily rotate back...

Thanks, that might be somewhat related as I've also noticed that the camera will think It's vertical when it's actually horizontal and vice versa. Perhaps a bug in the gyroscope firmware....

I don't think it's a bug. I think they're tinkering with the various sensitivities (orientation, touch sensitivity, etc.) and they haven't yet landed on the best settings...

@Steve S so we are both sort of half right:p

It's not the firmware but an Android issue.

A couple of our custom apps make active use of the daemon in Android that provides orientation data to running apps. MS did tweak this with the new update, basically over doubling the refresh and sampling rate. This was done to improve responsiveness overall.

Normally this is a good thing, but in some circumstances where apps are actively using it, the increased rate is causing the daemon to crash and restart.

It is happening with our apps, but also pretty much any app that actively and continuously uses the daemon and significantly remaps it's UI based on the orientation. Other examples would be most streaming apps such as Netflix or Hulu or of course MS's camera app.

TLDR, we aren't the only ones seeing it and it will be tweaked again in the next patch. :)

PS: The daemon is already doing over double the work since not only does it have to keep track of two displays, but also their position relative to each other.
