I don't see it available in the US. Only checking out of prurient interest.

Are you sure you meant "prurient"?

I had an iPhone 3G way back in the day before I actually got into phones, and I do remember Jailbreaking that one. Since then I've been solely an Android user and have never used a Macbook or iPad.

I still have matte screen protectors and a new Surface Pen coming, so I guess I could give it one more final shot. I think the device can be very useful, maybe I expected something from it that it can't exactly deliver, which is fine. And maybe $1.75 Field Books that lasts for a 2-3 weeks are a simple and cheap way to continue doing things. I can throw them around, whip them out, jot things down quickly, etc. The Duo and the Field Books/Field Notes are exactly the same size. If this was EMR, I think it'd be a completely different experience.

Moral of the story: you'll never know until you try.

The tent mode is useful, I have used that a lot, but the speakers are just so bad it is very hard to watch something, even quickly, without being connected to another external sound source. I used the ZTE Axon M for 1.5 years, and to be completely honest, it was a better experience in tent mode, if we're talking about consuming content. In a lot of ways the Axon M delivered a better overall dual-screen experience then the Duo. It allowed for more granular control of the content, where you wanted to place it, where you wanted to span it, etc. The taskbar controls were actually quite good. The Duo is obviously better for web-based and document consumption, in my opinion. It's aspect ratio allows for spaciousness that a bar phone can't provide. It reminds me of the BlackBerry Passport, which I also used and enjoyed for almost 2 years.

A full week after placing the order I finally get the email: "Per the vendor, this item was entered on cdw.com in error. These are demo units for customers with specific Microsoft contracts and will not be able to ship to you."

    Oh well.

Yea, they likely just ran out or didn't receive as many units and that's their copout :p. Shoot me a PM, I may be moving on from the Duo as it doesn't seem to work for me in a work environment as well as I thought it would.

It was worth the try at that price. Sorry it didn’t work out. :(
