CNet was ever more substantive than that?

Seriously, whether intentionally or not, Microsoft managed to guarantee double the number of videos - round one unboxing; round two software.

That together with @desertlap 's reticence reaffirm the belief there is some OS/app drop that needs to happen first.

We get it - either the OS is still in the oven or they've changed component specs - but this continuing burlesque routine is childish and amateurish at best. Why didn't they just leave one working unit in a bar somewhere like the pros do it? Oh, right, bars are locked down...

Based on conversations I've had with those that have actually had their hands on it, MS has pushed multiple software updates to it already as the stealth users have found issues.

Last we heard there is going to be a substantial day one update when it finally ships to customers. I take this as positive overall, since what MS is trying to do is quite ambitious. Maybe they learned something from the Pro X launch after all.

In other words this is far from just another dual screen android phone.

That's good and bad. I'm glad to see they are trying to make the release as solid as possible, but it has the look of the little dutch boy running out of fingers...

Just watched yesterday's Windows Weakly - and stunned by how clueless Thurrott is about the Duo. Laporte mentioned MS customizations for dual screen apps; Thurrott goes "I don't think there is anything truly unique MS did in that regard" and Foley corrects saying "the MS videos clearly shows customization of MS apps for spanning, etc."

And of course this came just before criticizing young tech reviewers for making instant decisions about a device from a quick look...
