This article lost me when they claimed that an "F/2.0 1.0um 11MP sensor is, while not the best, a pretty typical camera sensor found on phones these days". That's a lie, and anyone who covers hardware for a living should know it. An $80 Moto G7 Play has "13MP, f2.0, PDAF, 1.12um pixels" and that's literally just the first example I found of a phone <$100. But it has the same aperture, more pixels, larger sensor.

This is the kind of stuff that made me quit reading Windows Central. I know the rest of the article goes on to say that it's probably mediocre anyway, but claiming it's on par with a typical camera sensor is just not true.

, is that not a bit early to say? I mean for sure that it is far below a flagship camera but how good it really is, is hard to predict considering that software these days can also change a lot.

Except they're not even talking about image quality in that statement. They're saying it's a typical camera sensor, when it's a sensor that is worse than almost any phone out there, including one that sells for under $100. That has zero to do with software and is solely a statement about the hardware it's using.

A short article about camera megapixels to help inform the incessant... uh... earnest discussion:

    https://www.tomsguide.com/us/how-many-megapixels-you-need,review-1974.html

Digital photographers have long recognized that pixel counts and especially pixel size sometimes have a non-intuitive relationship to image quality. An 11 Mp sensor may turn out to perform better than one would think...

The Android community seem to be much more positive about the DUO then the Microsoft community...
