Yep, that's one appeal the SB has for me. Half the landscape width is only ~0.3" narrower than the S3 in portrait which I consider to be pretty much the perfect width. It is the perfect size for taking notes with OneNote in one column and some reference material in the other.

In the future, you will be able
to fold it in half or thirds.
Then stretch out the screen to the
desired size for the moments need.

    PS
Meso, you have an old M400 Tablet PC
    that still works?

I find that the keyboard with its awkward mechanism and dGPU have no appeal to me. The only appeal of SB to me ... is the larger, high PPI display. Too bad MS does not sell the tablet alone. I can live with the tablet + docking station + bluetooth keyboard/mouse.

Just pre-ordered i5 dGPU. The educational discount is finally available in Canada.
    Still very expensive.

I preordered the same model in store with the pen kit. I hope I can get the student discount when I pick it up.

I preordered the 16GB model (after canceling my beefy SP4 order) when the preorder was back again. Cost went from 2k to 3k (my goodness!). There is literally no configuration options for SB. (I would love a i5/16GB/512GB/no dGPU option). Shipping in 5-6 weeks.

Worst of all if the tablet-laptop switch mechanism is too much of a hassle, I'll bring my Wedge keyboard/mouse/charger to replace the keyboard dock. I pretty much use the pen and keyboard simultaneously all the time. There is no way I am going to use the laptop mode without the ability to use my pen. Going to see if it will re-ignite my passion for reading (which is the only area I felt inferior to conventional paperback after I convert to everything digital)

Wow that's a lot lot money.
Personal maximum 1000-1100€ or $ if I was in US I spent for any kind of Windows product.
The i5/4/128 model is just perfect to me.

Don't need more CPU power or more ram or SSD.

Also prefer 12-12.5" dimension screen maximum.

Wataru - this is a very confusing post for me to get my head around. If you don't even want to use the laptop keyboard, why not go SP4 - with the new dock you can use any keyboard you like, park the SPro 4 at any angle yo like, and use pen and keyboard. I understand the draw of the larger screen for reading and the like, but it just seems that your use case screams for tablet first.
