There are no USB or other input ports on the
tablet portion itself, as I understand?
(This is rather inconvenient if you wish to use it
as a mobile notepad and someone wants to give you
a file on a USb stick)

Also, does the micro SD card insert into the tablet
    or the base portion?

Anybody have any idea if teh full size SD card slot goes in all the way, or does the SD card hang out? It can make a big difference as a backup device if it is internal.

I'm sure I saw some footage of it going all the way in, but I don't know where I saw it.

    Bummer
Wow, so when you yank it from the base, you lose all of your external files o n the
    Micro SD.
I like to save files to the SD and some programs to save HD space.
    Thanks

Ok now that the honey moon is officially over. I wanna see benchmarks. I keep having second thoughts when I see that 2k price tag for an i5.

Lets see chipsets and benchmarks to current 6th gen processors with haswell and GPU benchmarks too.

I want evidence and data. Not throwing up claims with wild jazzy hands Panos!

I don't think the SB was intended for those that want to use the slate by itself heavily. That is what the SP4 is meant for.

In the SP4 presentation they said the only reason they didn't make it any thinner was so they could keep the USB 3.0 port... and the SB clipboard is thinner (and lighter) than the SP4. With a detachable you have a necessary tradeoff to make in terms of balance so that it doesn't topple backwards in laptop mode (hence the effort to engineer the crazy hinge). Adding more stuff to the slate adds weight and for every ounce you add to the slate you have to add even more to the keyboard in order to counter balance it. As MS said, this thing is supposed to be a laptop first and foremost, so I think the slate portion being so bare bones is a result of that priority. If they loaded up the slate portion, they would have ended up with a laptop that didn't compete with the MBP in the weight department.

But the jazzy hands were my deciding factor otherwise why did I drop $3 Grand! (price of the top of the line one with tax)

I think that Ms should have made 84 different machines and then... Someone would have stood up to proclaim, "I don't like the colour!" :)

Has anyone checked the hinge on the Book? I went to my local microsoft store but they do not have a Book on demo.
Does the opening angle btw the screen and base feel comfortable when putting the laptop on a table while the user standing up?
