Thanks Jeff - guess I'll keep troubleshooting. So far today stable and running cores at mid-50's again.

See you're using the Windows OneNote - how do you like it compared to OneNote 2016? FYI - my latest mess on display...

I actually like it, the UWP Ink API is much more fluid and how I use OneNote it works great. But I use Cloud Storage and store nothing locally - I change machines to often and let's admit running beta bits I rebuild my machine a couple of times a year.

Have you updated the NVIDIA Driver? I'm running the one dated 6/26/2018...

OH BOY - I just opened up Device Manager and the NVidia 1050 is not listed...:eek:OK - panic over (for moment); detached and reattached clipboard, then shut down, did hard reset, and GTX 1050 is now there. Windows update says "best driver" is already installed, but it's 10/17 - guess I should go directly to NVidia site and look around.

Is your base working at all? Battery showing?
My ordeal started in the same way... -.-

This just keeps getting better - just got notice that 2018-07 cumulative update for Win10Pro 1803 is downloading - the fun begins (again). At least Device Manager still showing GTX 1050; this is going to be an "interesting" afternoon...installing now...

UPDATE: Per Jeff's suggestion I updated Geoforce driver to 6/24/18 24.21.13.9836. GTX 1050 still showing up in Device Manager.

@Azzart - per your question base seems to be working correctly; ports (including Surface Connector) all working. It was just teh GTX 1050 that went MIA; since hard reset it is showing in Device Manager, including after driver update...

Another day, another MS quirk to deal with - you would sure think where they have control over the hardware and software they would be a little more stable, wouldn't you?

There was a bug that could cause the dGPU to disappear. There is a way to bring it back if it goes away and doesn't come back but it is tricky...
