Except all that data pertains to what would be most beneficial to Microsoft not the customer. I get what you're saying, and it's a business so they are going to do what's best for their profit margin. That's the way of the world.

Not at the Montgomery Mall store, at least. Best they did was $20 off a sleeve, nothing more. Probably would have got a better deal at the Pentagon City store.

What about the keyboard, pen, and warranty bundle? Did that pan out?

Keyboard, pen, warranty and sleeve bundle at my local store for $299. I also got a free shirt and some other Microsoft Swag, but that's it. Student discount + tax was within a few dollars of the Costco bundle price.

It's nice to have a penabled tablet working again, after my AVN8 had the digitizer die again on me. I feel naked without Onenote.

How is this within a few dollars of the Costco deal? Even with 10% off still seems a little high. (599$ + 299$= 898$ - 10% = 808$ roughly before tax? $250 for this bundle is what I thought someone else mentioned since it didn't include full office.

Is the warranty worth it to buy this bundle though?

Back at the office. The S3 has to stay in the box until I get home. I'm too busy to play.:(

Some answers. There is a basic bundle with the KB, MS Complete and a sleeve. No pen. The only bundle with a pen is the $299 one. Seems a bit misplaced but, WTH. I had an issue with my original warranty transferring to the new device. The store manager could not fall over herself fast enough to deal with my issue. MS comes through again.

Business units have to be ordered through the business rep. The 64/4GB S3 is $549 with WP8.1 Pro aboard. No Office. Warranties are different for commercial units. Basic 3 year is defect only. There is a 3 year accidental/defect for $199 (I think - YMMV) and a 4 year accidental/defect for $299 (same caution).

That's the basics. Can't wait to get home tonight and fire up the S3. BTW, Navy Blue KB with Black Pen FTW.

    Another case of Surface flu.
