I use Internet Explorer MUI whenever I want to navigate but other times I have to use a browser on the desktop (i.e. searching images) and in that case I use Chrome: I would love to use IE but I find irritating the onscreen keyboard not popping up automatically when I have to write anything in IE.

I used Chrome because you can sync bookmarks/favorites across all PCs that are running Chrome. I switched to desktop IE because everyone said Chrome uses a lot more power. I found out how to sync Favorites, but only across other Win 8 PCs. After about a month, I saw no difference in power consumption. I was then told that I had to use metro IE to get the lower power consumption. In metro, I can't even find out how to edit Favorites to re-name or re-organize them into the order I want. So, I use IE desktop to organize my Favorites. But, even worse, I notice absolutely no difference in power consumption. I am about ready to go back to Chrome.

    Regards, Jim

I don't understand your comment about the keyboard not popping up when you want to type. On my SP3, the keyboard pops up any time I touch a type window.

I think he is referring to the desktop IE. Mine does not pop up automatically either; only when I am in the other (Metro, Menu, New) IE.

    That's it.
You would think Microsoft would know this feature is essential on a touch oriented device, but nope...

I had the opposite problem on a Yoga 11s. The on screen keyboard would pop up when I was in laptop mode. It was so irritating that I disabled on screen keyboard.

The keyboard popup seems to be fixed in Windows 10....

Just giving you guys a heads up that the surface 3 can now be pre-ordered for $449 64GB, and $539 128GB on the Microsoft Store.
