No problems on my S3, although I'm not running an Insider Build, so that's probably no help to you.

I'm not sure what's running on my Surface 3 in terms of updates as they are push via InTune by Group IT. If something breaks, I'd scream at them and it gets fix....hehe.

    It wasn't from me.
I show great restraint. Tremendous restraint. You can't find a more restrained person than I. I'm so restrained you wouldn't believe it.

But do I get any thanks? NO!
    Any recognition? NO!

Well there is no question that the lack of touch in the tab and URL bars is software or firmware related. A simple test shows that it is not a hardware problem. If I flip the S3 into portrait mode, the same two bars are still dead to touch. That same tablet space is completely touch sensitive when in landscape mode. It's not, IMO, a hardware issue.

Problematically, it seems to be a problem unique to my device. That would indicate to me that the problem is related to an improperly loading or performing software or firmware update. I've tried reloading the last few updates and no improvement. When I get some more time, I'll have to go further back and see what I can do.

A simple test shows that my touch-dead tab and url bars are software or firmware related. If I turn the tablet in portrait mode, it is still there in an area that is otherwise touch sensitive in landscape. It has to be a software issue.

I guess I have to go back and uninstall updates until I find the problem. Ugh! Microsoft, get the LTE Go out soon please.

Why don't you roll back the touchscreen driver.

It may be listed as hid class driver

Is it time for an entropy clock reset (fresh iso install)? I usually end up doing this about once a year.

    You're probably right. But it's a PITA.
