I would go with W10 and leave W8.1 behind. I have had no problem in two years with W10.

Hmm interesting, in my case regedit is the kind of crap that makes me love Windows. Means I can go in and adjust every little detail to my own liking and not rely on what Apple or Google thinks is good for me.

Digital artist found dead in home. Details sketchy.

    Is Win10 better than 8.1?
I'm having trouble getting things to run on 10.

Make sure you get everything up to date and the see how your W10 runs. I have found it to be very reliable. MS seems not to be committed to W8 in the long run.

This gives me real pause about buying anything ATM. An ARM/W10 S4 would be such an awesome device. Significant improvement in battery life, CPU power, graphics and native LTE support. Wow!

I used to be in your camp, often spending hours of happy tweaking. Maybe it's age? I have no patience for it anymore. And I have far too much I want to do within days that seem to get shorter and shorter.

Just give me an OS and apps that frikkin' work, without issues and handholding and endless patching, so that I can get on with more interesting activities!

We have older 32 bit programs.

One of them requires Dotnetfx2.5 and Dotnetfx3
Install fails, stating no Netfx2.5 installed.

I can not get that version to install. The add functions shows version Netfx4.5,
with no choice to install and earlier version.
