I agree with that. Less heat = less power use, less various hardware failures, longer battery life, better battery endurance. Sealed = no dust buildup, no dirt inside, again less various hardware failures.
I'm not bothered by the fan, it rarely comes up. I did install a few games... but they were mostly of the turn based variety and I didn't have time to play them beyond the initial check whether they will start/work. So the efficiency in gaming doesn't bother me the slightest. Actually I wouldn't buy a slate with a discrete GPU.

Plus if it's waterproof you can avoid throttling by full-immersion water cooling.

I finally skipped the SP3 and I am waiting for the SP4 to come out. I will get it if the battery life is increased to around 14 hours for light use and if it uses the latest USB and media card technologies. Two USB and two media card slots would be great. I would hope for a display with a better contrast and lower power consumption; maybe an OLED display. I would like the Wacom Electromagnetic (EM) pen better, but even Wacom is now marketing an electrostatic pen like the N-TRIG so I doubt Microsoft will go back to EM pens. 12 GB RAM would be great. I will wait until I see the SP4. Still using the LE1700 but short on memory and speed!

If Dale doesn't watch out he's going to drop out of the top 10!

I agree with OLED or IGZO panel with less power consumption, but 14hours it's simple impossible even with type cover with extra battery.
