zzZzzzz. Light bleed has been here for years but, now, it seems that a lot of people are jumping all over it.

I watched Deadpool on Sunday and, while sitting there, I actually noticed that the screen had projector light bleed. How I laughed.

Unfortunately Microsoft doesn't care about lightbleed like Apple. You are going to see lightbleed in almost every surface device. Some will have more, others less. I'd exchange it if it was severe. Yours is pretty average man. Just set it on 50% brightness and load a 100% black image. Then see how much it bothers. Logon screen doesn't count.

But as a practical matter, what does it matter? How often are you looking at a purely black screen - I h=guess dark scenes in movies, maybe, but when else is it significant/

It's significant when people have OCD. I was just trying to rationalize the OCD a bit to make it more bearable.

That's what I thought. I've decided to keep it after all - store I bought it from have complicated return policy. Light bleed is only noticeable in dark room with screen brightness set too hi to comfortably look at it anyway. And otherwise device is amazing - best computer I've ever had despite all the little annoyances.

For what it's worth, and mine didn't bother me, I just exchanged my SP4 for a new one and light bleed is better especially along the bottom of the device. Lot No 1607 on the new one. When in use, the screen doesn't look any better or worse, both excellent in my opinion.

I haven't seen a SP4 without some light bleed. Get used to it.

Reminds me when I first got line bifocals. Drove me nuts at first as I could only concentrate on the line. Eventually brain tuned it out. Don't notice it.
